In contrast to earlier speculations of a heart attack, Shetty dispelled the rumors, clarifying that Dinesh battled liver damage. Shetty revealed, “For the last two days, he has been very critical, and today morning (Sunday), I’ve learned that there’s no major improvement. We’re hoping he gets better soon.”
Dinesh Phadnis, the source of humor and innocence as CID officer Fredericks, alongside Shivaji Satam and Aditya Shrivastava, reflected on how his journey began. “I remember I was struggling for roles, meeting B P Singh (CID’s producer). I am not aware if it was sheer luck or coincidence. Finally, he asked me if I wanted to join CID, and that’s how my journey began.”
Highlighting his role’s significance, Dinesh reminisced, “The show earlier had no humor at all. So I was chosen to be the comic relief. And I must say that I have received a great response from the masses.”
With the passing of Dinesh Phadnis, the curtain falls on an era cherished by CID fans, who remember him for infusing laughter into the iconic show with his portrayal of Fredericks. His legacy will undoubtedly linger in the hearts of those who enjoyed his comedic charm onscreen.
